Tarangire National Park Day Trip safari
Overview
On this day trip, we will visit Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and towering, ancient baobab trees. You’ll probably get to see plenty of them, along with many other incredible animals that call this park home.
The adventure begins with an early morning departure from Arusha. From there, we’ll drive straight to Tarangire National Park, a journey of about two hours.
Safari Itinerary
You’ll be driving in a spacious 4×4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof, offering a 360-degree view. During your day trip in Tarangire National Park, you might encounter lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, warthogs, impalas, cheetahs, mongooses, buffalos, baboons, and ostriches. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot a leopard lounging in a tree! Of course, there’s plenty more wildlife waiting to be discovered.
Let’s not forget about the massive elephant herds that rule the park. You’ll see large families, bachelor herds, and groups of females—complete with adorable babies, playful teenagers, young mothers, and wise older matriarchs leading the way. You might also spot a majestic bull elephant roaming alone.
Halfway through our day trip, we’ll take a lunch break at a special spot with stunning views over the park. Keep an eye out for curious monkeys—they might be eyeing your lunch too!
After lunch, we’ll head out for another game drive to search for any animals we may have missed, making sure to check off as many incredible wildlife encounters as possible. At the end of the day, we’ll begin our journey back to Arusha.
